Chika Esiobu's interdisciplinary interests span traditional ecological knowledge, agroecology, education curricula and pedagogy, ecohealth and ethnomedicine, with a strong focus on the African continent. She has published several research papers on aspects of Africa's indigenous knowledge and is the author of Indigenous Knowledge and Education in Africa (Springer, 2019).Esiobu has collaborated with organizations to conduct indigenous knowledge-based research including the International Development Research Center Canada, United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER), United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), among others. She has been invited to share her ideas across platforms including at the United Nations, Yale University, London School of Economics and The African Union, among others.
A lifelong learner, educator and invited presenter, Esiobu aims to make complex topics approachable and to invite thoughtful discussions. She has lived and worked in four countries across three continents and, through her travels, she has learned to value integrity, dignity, respect for self and others.
